FAQs

We’re a full-service international freight forwarder. That means we take care of sea freight, air freight, customs and quarantine clearance, warehousing and distribution, small parcel deliveries, and even product sourcing. Whether you’re importing, exporting, or simply exploring your options, our team can guide you every step of the way.

It comes down to priorities. If your shipment is time-sensitive or high-value, air freight is often the best choice. If cost-efficiency is key and your goods aren’t urgent, sea freight can deliver significant savings. Our team will help you weigh up your options and find the right balance for your business.

FCL (Full Container Load) means you book the entire container for your cargo, offering faster transit and greater control. LCL (Less than Container Load) means your shipment shares container space with others, which is more cost-effective for smaller loads. Both options have their advantages; we’ll help you decide which is best suited to your needs.

The essentials include a commercial invoice, packing list, and either a bill of lading (for sea freight) or an air waybill (for air freight). Depending on your goods, you may also need certificates of origin, permits, or licenses. You’ll find downloadable templates and useful links in our Resources section, and our team will guide you through the paperwork to keep things simple.

Yes. Our licensed brokers manage all customs and quarantine clearance requirements, ensuring your goods comply with regulations and move smoothly across borders. From tariff classifications to duty calculations, we’ve got you covered.

Incoterms are standard trade terms that clearly define who is responsible for costs, risks, and logistics at each stage of the shipping process. Choosing the right Incoterm avoids confusion and helps protect your bottom line. You can learn more in our Incoterms Explained guide

While it isn’t mandatory, we strongly recommend protecting your cargo with insurance. Risks like damage, theft, and delays are part of international trade, and the cost of cover is small compared to the potential loss. Dyson can arrange tailored freight insurance to give you peace of mind.

Delays can be caused by port congestion, weather events, customs inspections, or incomplete paperwork. Peak seasons, such as Christmas or Chinese New Year, also impact transit times. Working with an experienced forwarder helps minimise these risks. We plan ahead and keep you updated so there are no surprises.

Transit times vary by route and mode of transport, but as a guide:

Sea freight: 10–50 days, depending on origin and destination.

Air freight: a few days to a week, plus time for customs clearance.

We’ll provide a more accurate estimate with your quote, so you can plan with confidence.
