Let’s say you’re importing electronics from China to Sydney:
- With FOB Shanghai, your supplier delivers the goods to the port and gets them loaded. From there, Dyson Logistics handles the ocean freight, insurance, customs clearance, and delivery to your warehouse. You have full visibility and control.
- With CIF Sydney, the supplier arranges freight and insurance to Sydney Port, but you’re responsible for local port charges, customs clearance, and delivery. These local costs can catch people off guard!
